INTERESTED IN THE ORIGINS OF KARTING?
See the latest happenings in the Vintage kart world by
reading National Kart News magazine. Also go to the
Vintage karting web site www.VKA.org
We have a couple of refurbished vintage karts in our
workshop:-
1960 Shoemaker "Blitz" powered by a Mc93B. and a
1961 Percival "Hellcat" with twin WestBend 580's
We tried the Hellcat at Katy. Its a powerful machine and
on skinny vintage size rock hard tires it was an
interesting ride. You need a lot of what we called in the
old days "body Language" to keep the kart on the track.
Great fun!
Do you have an old kart rusting away in the back of your
garage or barn? We need you to dig it out and come join
the VKA. If I can get enough karts together we could
start a Houston chapter of the VKA and who knows even
hold a "race" or at least a meeting- barbeque and sodas
on us!

FRAGILE - THEY HAVE CAST ALUMINUM

FANS. BOTH ITEMS LIKELY TO LET GO WITH
STARTLING RESULTS, AS I CAN BEAR
WITNESS TO.
I HAD A CONNECTING ROD SNAP AT 4,880
RPM. DESTROYING THE PISTON AND CRANK
AND PUTTING A BIG CRACK IN THE CASE.
GOOD JOB A NEW ENGINE [ON SALE] ONLY
